BRIGAND Cafe/Bar - Takaka

Nature comes to the fore at the Brigand Café Bar! Through the big steel gates you will discover a brush fenced and decked area with a boulder water fountain, hewn macrocarpa tables, native ferns and lush foliage.
Relax, enjoy, this is hospitality Takaka style. Enjoy an open fire both inside, and outside under cover for the smokers. A lovely natural environment in the summer sunshine or for cosy winter days and nights. Children’s sandpit too.
Well-stocked bar with tap beers, regional wines, spirits and liqueurs, plus non-alcoholic drinks.

Try a light meal like the lamb, vegetarian or salmon salads. The spare ribs are huge, and famous far and wide, as is the generous sirloin steak. Fish of the Day, Golden Bay Mussels… the choice is impressive and the menu makes the most of fresh local produce.

We operate a “booking only” system. We require your booking of the evening meal no later than 4pm of the day but prefer and appreciate your booking a day in advance.

Set Menu
We offer one set main meal per night with a vegetarian option and a choice of desserts. Main meals consists of fresh home baked bread and olive oil dip and a well balanced meal containing proteins vegetables or salads and carbohydrates. Half portions for children available.

Locally Sourced Ingredients
We grow our own salad greens, herbs and garnishes in our organic garden. All other produce is sourced locally if available.

Accommodation

The seven bedroom adobe inn is an artistic blend of Mediterranean and ecological architecture situated on three acres of gardens. Lush subtropical vegetation contrasts with white washed adobe (sun dried clay bricks) and the grass roof blends into the landscape. The laid back, casual and homely atmosphere is a panacea for the stressed and tired holiday maker.
